Hello I'm René Nadorp.

It is my passion to create value with Business Intelligence.
I've been working on the boundary between business and IT my entire career. I like to work in a multifunctional (project) team of professionals to deliver value to the organisation. I communicate freely and easily to anyone, regardless of background, age or level within the organisation.
Below is the timeline of my professional career.
Currently I am working as a BI Architect for Inergy, a BI & Analytics company in Woerden, The Netherlands. The company's main value proposition is a datawarehouse managed service on the IBM's Netezza datawarehousing appliance, with MicroStrategy reporting on top. Other managed services are also offered, including Microsoft Azure datawarehousing with PowerBI reporting, Analytics solutions, etc.
Ricoh is a company in the printing industry. Ricoh Europe is the regional mother company for the operating companies across Europe. As an enterprise architect I've been working on various IT projects, with a focus on standardization, efficiency improvement and cost reduction. In this role it was my responsibility to work with the operating companies and define target solutions, investigate different options, build business cases and advise IT management. In this period I've been primarily involved with BI, working on a new European BI platform, consisting of Oracle database (12c), IBM's ETL tool Datastage, and Board reporting.
After a reorganisation within the IT department at Ricoh Netherlands, it was decided to make a start with enterprise architecture. As an enterprise architect I became responsible for the application architecture, maintaining the IT landscape and applying architecture principles for IT projects. In this period I have introduced working with PSA's in project governance processes. Sogeti's DYA was chosen as the enteprise architecture framework.
In this period I've been the lead DWH Architect for Ricoh Netherlands. The primary focus was to standardize the solution by building conformed facts and dimensions to ensure different stakeholder groups were reporting the same figures in their reports and were able to speak the same language with each other.
In 1996 Randstad decided to start a pilot for building a datawarehouse, using SAS technology. Once the added value of the solution was recognized by senior management, it was decided to rebuild the datawarehouse, using Essbase/400 technology. After a reorganization and change of IT management, the datawarehouse was rebuilt once again, this time using a combination of Oracle database and Cognos technology. I've been working on these different datawarehouse projects as a developer using these various technologies.
Coding various batch and online programs using COBOL/400, SQL/400 and CL/400 for the Randstad central staffing solution.
Currently I am following the master's program "Business Process Management and IT" at the Open Universiteit, specialisation Data Science. I hope to get my master's degree in 2019.

A 5-day course in The Open Group Architecture Framework at The Unit Academy.

Project Management Skills
Below is a list of projects I have done in the past.
Mar-Dec, 2018 BI Architecture
This project was all about ensuring BCBS239 compliance for a mortgage bank in The Netherlands. The BCBS239 regulation is about risk data governance, aggregation and reporting, in which the company datawarehouse played a central role. It was my responsibility to translate the requirements resulting from the regulation into an agreed architecture end state and roadmap.
Jan-May, 2018 BI Architecture
For the IT department of a financial institution in The Netherlands a new datawarehouse needed to be built on the Microsoft Azure platform, based on the IT4IT standard of The Open Group. It was my responsibility to translate this standard into a company BI4IT datawarehouse solution
2015 Application Architecture
A large BI program was initiated in 2015 called "BI2.0". The goal of this program was derive more business value from BI, for which the complete BI architecture, including people, process, information and technology, was reconsidered. I was responsible for maintaining the application architecture. As part of this program I have investigated workload automations tools to automate workloads spanning multiple systems. I have led an RFP process for this capability, involving vendors like BMC (Control-M), Advanced Systems (ActiveBatch), CA (Workload Automation) and Stonebranch. This resulted in an option comparison and business cases, and a recommendation to IT management
2016 Enterprise Architecture
This project consisted of defining process flows for Incident Management across two core European service management systems: ServiceNow and Oracle Siebel. This was a requirement of a large customer in Switzerland: SBB ("Schweizerische Bundes Bahnen")
2016 Enterprise Architecture
For Ricoh Europe I was responsible for defining the architecture for the Regional Service Desk. This involved definition of process flows across multiple global systems, including ServiceNow, Oracle Siebel.
2016 Enterprise Architecture
For Ricoh Europe I was in the lead for the requirements gathering and analysis for a European enterprise level project management solution. This was followed by an RFI and RFP with multiple vendors, including Clarizen, Oracle and others
